Tillotson YC6A carbuerator

Looking for replacement suggestions/recommendations for a Tillotson YC6A carb that was used on Avery/MM V, MH Pony tractors and other equipment that might have utilized the 4 cyl. IXB Hercules engines. Any information is appreciated. Stan

Does the carburetor have to be a Tillotson YC6A?

The tractors listed are 10 HP. There is/should be quite a number of different makes/models of small engine carburetors that will work.

The little bit I have checked seems to indicate the list in your first post is a complete list of places that carb was used. The displacement, max rpm, and horsepower of that engine is so close to a Cub that it seems a Zenith carburetor with the same jets used in a Cub might work well.

Thanks guys. The main problem with the carbs that I have checked is (facing forward) the throttle linkage will have to be on the right side/air intake to the rear to connect to the breather intake and governor linkage and work. Zenith for Cub will have to rotate 180 deg and reverse the throttle linkage. There's gotta be one that will work, I just haven't found it yet at an affordable price. Stan

I could be wrong, but believe most Zeniths have throttle and choke shafts that can be swapped to the opposite side. I had that in mind when I suggested a Zenith.

I purchased one on ebay (not the one tst posted above). Pretty sure it's going to need a rebuild but the price was right. Anyone have any info on a YC7A? Thanks. Stan

My Leader tractors have the Hercules IXB-5 that are equipped with the Tillotson carb. They look the same but probably a little larger model. I went through one of them, a while back, a very basic carb. all I needed was a couple gaskets, which I made.

My reference lists the Leader D with the IXB-5 engine using a Tillotson YC-2B carburetor. I would guess any YC carburetor is about the same. The differences are probably no more than levers on the shafts and the jetting.
