Woods L59 bolt

Postby john2189 » Sat Mar 09, 2024 7:42 am

My woods mower with the left hand spindle bolt is worn and rounded off. 6 point socket slips off What would be the best way to remove it? Grind the head off and hope there is enough bolt for a pipe wrench to grip it? I don’t have a welder to weld something to it, or a torch to heat it.
Any suggestions welcome

Folks have had success with a tool like these bolt extractors:

Make sure you are turning the correct direction!

Ok got it. Put a cut off wheel on my grinder to cut the head off. Got about half way through and tried pipe wrench and it came right out. Probably the heat and taking some pressure off it made it loose enough to come out
