Help

Postby beaconlight » Sat Aug 19, 2006 2:32 pm

I am in the country and using the computer at the library. Will some one please give this guy an Email with the 3 supporting suppliers.

Hello Beacon Light,
How are things in NY?? I found you posts on forums relating to IH Power Units. I am attempting to help and old fellow out. He is restoring an IH Power Unit. He came to me to see if I could help him find a starter on the internet. He is ill with cancer and this project is part of what keeps him going. He brought a bunch of numbers to me, initally, but I couldn't make heads nor tails of them. So I went myself this morning to see if I could find a data plate. Indeed I did. The data plate identifies the unit as a "Power Unit." There is no model or series number there, but there is a serial number which is: 64 HTC-5691. So Googled this info and found your posts. He has hand cranked this unit for years, but now that he is ill and older he is looking for a starter. There is a place for a starter, but it is covered with a plate. Can you tell me what starter would fit this unit? Many thanks for reading this. If you need more data, just let me know. All the best.
Kind regards,
W. Harper

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

I wonder if it has a ring gear on the flywheel?
If you are not part of the solution,

John, was just going to mention the same question. I was going to put a starter on mine until I removed the starter hole cover and seen that it has no ring gear. (NO-TEETH)
Then came Bronson
