If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Red Green was produced in Hamilton, Ontario near where my wife grew up.
Steve Smith (aka Red Green) had two shows on TV here in Ontario prior to Red Green. One was a Carol Burnett type skit show that he did with his wife called Smith and Smith. The Red Green character was developed as a skit on that show. He did a pilot on just that character back in the late 80's and it took off slowly here in Canada. When it gained popularity the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. picked up the show and it was produced out of Toronto. I think PBS picked it up first down south and it just took off. It always remained true to its roots and the content never really changed much. Well known Canadian actors played re-occuring characters, my favorite was Hap Shaunessy played by Gordon Pinsent. Steve Smith as Red Green wrote a weekly column for the Sun newspaper on aging which was very funny. One that sticks out in my mind was about having to buy a replacement drill after his has died and the decisions required to choose just the right one given his age and the amount of time he had left in the land of the living.
