Lawn Boy
I've always preferred Lawn Boy's since I was big enough to push one. Dad got me started when I was in the first grade.. (I had to push on the cross bar) I don't have the actual mower anymore, but I do have one just like it in the barn. It's a 1958, and doesn't have enough compression to start. (can't get the rings anymore) So 50+ years of Lawn Boys have served me well. A neighbor who has his own Lawn & Garden equipment repair business, saves his "Old School" Lawn Boys for me, for parts. BTW the new mowers that say Lawn Boy now days are not... My latest favorite is combined from at least a 20 year span of odds and ends. (Only the wheels are newer than 1990) Aluminum deck, 2 cycle engine, no handlebar controls, no self propelled, very light weight, but strong. I have several ditches and obstacles that a weedeater just can't handle, so this little jewel works nicely. It sat over the winter, and started first pull. As long at I can keep fixing them, that's what I'll be using for my own lawn. The newest parts (except the wheels) are from the '80's. Uncompensated advertisement.... hehe

Re: Lawn Boy
It's nice when the only moving parts are the crank and piston. Not much to go wrong there....

Same here. I refurbed this one last year. Starts first pull.....and runs fantastically. It's what I do trimming with.

Re: Lawn Boy
nice....back when lawn boy was decent.......not mtd crap..........I have a 1986 lawnboy with an aluminum deck, was my grandfathers, hardly ever used it and is in excellent shape, also have one of the last of the commercial lawn boys with greasable wheels, and no blade brake, was the last year before they started putting on blade brakes, it's an early 90's model with the 1 gallon orange gas tank.Harold R wrote:Same here. Re: Lawn Boy
Dang, can't put my hands on my LawnBoy badge! I think it says I (heart) my LawnBoy! What you really want is a magnesium deck 19" LB/IHC to trim with! (thanks Bill & Rick & Dale) I have a fleet of LB/IH mowers and a tribute commercial mower. Can't make this phone copy the URL. Go to file 1356/1357 on the host.

Or just go to My Tractor Forum and the walk behind section, get a tissue to wipe the drool! Not mine but lots of LawnBoy.
