Help identify this brush hog make and model.

This is the hundred-dollar brush hog I was talking about. The guy I bought it was buying it from was a complete idiot and could barely operate his front loader tractor. Almost hit me on the freaking head with the damn loader. Anyway the one picture is a side view of the printing on the side it looks something like....g?L?per. Sorry I could not auto rotate the picture. Maybe I will try and edit it and upload another picture.

Here's that same picture turned on its side so somebody else can take a better look at it. These are the words or only words that I could find stenciled on the tractor at least with just a cursory observation.

With the hinged blades I believe that is a brush cutter. I would hesitate to call it a Cub Clipper. Any Clipper I have seen has a round deck. It may be but.......... Vern

not to be confused with a Kub Klipper, all I am saying is the letters appear to read "CLIPPER" and in one single match I found the mower is the same thing as was called a "Clipper Cut". The mower was the exact same shape with the same bracing and gearbox. A Zero Turn company uses that term now so searches bring up that. I thought maybe it was an old Lowery made machine but they seem to all be newer.

Well anyway it's help I'm looking for lol and you guys surely are doing that. I will keep searching and see what I can find out if I find out more I will add it here. Right now I just plan on getting the thing running. Just for curiosity sake what kind of oil should I use in the gearbox. I've heard or at least I think I heard 10 W 30 would work fine

Most of those gearboxes I am familiar with were filled with 80-90 weight gear oil.

I think most of those gear boxes came originally with 90wt, but I know of many that now have 00 grease, which is sold as corn head grease in my area, and I believe as cotton spindle grease in the south. Tractor Supply has it at the best price I have found in my area.

That's pretty close except for the direction of the metal backbone on the top of the tractor. I probably should get a picture of the front of the gearbox and show that as well except I've got the thing hanging up now and I'm going to do a light sharpening on the blades tomorrow and probably try and hook it up. See how it works. I don't plan on going over anything too rough but what's your guys opinions on a slip clutch. Because I do not know the real make and model of this brush hog I can't determine its cutting capacity or anything like that. Now anything I do cut I plan on walking the area first because I have no back wheel lol. So I would walk the area I intend to cut looking for rocks or stuff hanging in the air or big knockdown Timber to prevent it from jamming up.Also considering it's a Farmall h 1948 There is a tool which I cannot remember right now which connects to the PTO shaft and then connects to the PTO it's supposed to stop the brush hog rotation blade from pushing the tractors transmission when it's shut off. I can't remember what the name of it is right now.

The item that you're referring to, for the PTO shaft is an overrunning clutch. It's highly recommended!!

PTO speed a factor? from what I read the cub is way faster than the 540 most PTO driven implements are run at? is that old brush hog really gonna spin at 1800 rpms? did i miss something here?
