Hello, everyone, I'm new here......I currently don't own a Cub tractor (I have had two in the past) but I do have an IH 52R combine with a Cub power unit on it. I guess that makes me a partial !@#@#$@ Cub Owner! Am a big all-around IH fan and have several toys including a Farmall 450, Farmall 230, another 52R combine with a Continental power unit, a 42R combine, '55 R-160 truck, 424 owned by my Dad, and my pride and joy, 1948 Farmall Super A which has been here since my Grandfather bought it new. I'm on the hunt for another Super A now to take over gardening duties this summer as my Super A is currently in the paint shop, finally!!
I hope to have the combine in the field this Summer and will post pic's when I do. In the meantime, here's the 450 and #70 plow....

Welcome aboard Super A! Nice looking 450 there! Our neighbor had one of those. Our first "modern" (in my eyes) tractor we had was a 560D. Be sure and post some pics of the super A!

Thanks, Bigdog, the 450 was a BIG tractor in it's time.
I also forgot, I have a Farmall Super M manufactured at Louisville--It's pretty sickly as it needs a valve job but overall not a bad tractor. But if I'd have been smart, I'd have gotten another Super A!!
Here's my pride 'n joy as it looked last week.....pretty sad but it'll be beautiful soon!!
better shots of it with one of my combines--this is the Continental-powered one. The Cub powered combine has some stuck valves I have to contend with.

There appears to be a moldy green tractor in your tractor shed!

Super A:
Welcome to the board and to the Cub family. Yup, I would suppose that the Cub powered Combine will qualify!, although you just have to like Cubs and that should be enough.
Nice passel of equipment there. Nice combine too!
Hope you find your second Super A, after that, you can start looking for a Cub, but I'll bet you won't be able to stay with just one!

Super A
I like the pictures. Would like to see more of the 42R combine. I remember tying sacks on one as a 10 year old while my dad pulled it with a Super A running the combine with the power take off. You are not far away. I'm 50 miles east of Charlotte near Badin lake.

Bigdog,
Yes, we have a couple of JD's--sadly that's what happens when you lose your local IH dealer!
Rudi,
I did have two Cub's for a while. One was a parts machine. The other was a "clunker" with good sheet metal but stayed broke down more than it ran. I finally got tired of it and sold them both, they went to Wisconsin. Wouldn't mind another one if the right one came along. I have a full set of cultivators waiting for it!
Jim,
I'll take some 42R pic's sometime. It was my first combine, I bought it while I was a student at NC State from an older fellow that had a small farm in the 'burbs' of Raleigh. It's not as nice as the other 52R's but I've had it in the field. Would like to get them all going at one time in the field. My other 52R is a tank machine, believe it or not I found it on Ebay, it came from Iowa and I have as much in hauling it as the purchase price. But is in excellent shape and I don't believe it was ever used much.
I have a good friend that lives up near Kannapolis. If you hear of any Super A's for sale, let me know!

Al,
I'm glad you finally got that Cub power unit running. What did you find wrong with it? I remember we talked about it a lot on ATIS.

George,
It's not running yet, but it will be soon! If the weather is better I plan to tinker on it this weekend. Finally think I have the problem isolated to the valves sticking and should have it purring soon.
If that don't work, you'll read about it here......

superA, I'm on 56K dialup. The pictures don't take tooo long to load up and are well worth the wait, in any case! Welcome to the board! I enjoyed your pictures very much!
BTW, I think we have a parts book for your 52r, if you are interested you can email me from the link at the bottom of my posts.
