Cub 154 Conversion
Has anyone converted the cub 154 over to a regular cub starter and clutch? Also replaced the starter generator with a one wire alternator. I am told this eliminates the problems a 154 usually has.

I have never had a starter problem yet with my int154 with the s/g. I'm new to the int154 so whats the problem with the s/g's? It sits outside and i already found out not to wash it because the belt slips when you go to start it, it has to dryout for a while. But it always starts for me even with it outside but i did install a new belt.
Hmm a highboy int154 i'd have to think about that.

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

i dont think a lot of fabrication would have to be done ,could probably use a reg cub front axle.

I understand the conversion this way:
1. Replace starter generator with one wire alternator
2. Install regular cub starter
3. Install regular cub flywheel, pressure plate and clutch
This fixes the weak spots in the tractor. Anyone done this? Pictures?

I've converted a 154 engine for use in an F-Cub (Rambo). Using a conventional clutch to replace the whacky setup in a 154 wouldn't be for the faint of heart.
