I recently posted some photos of my '55 Loboy, and Paul K asked if I had the vented gas cap in addition to the non-vented one shown in the photos. I didn't know I even needed a vented cap, and Rudi sent me a link for an order form for the free one. Well, I got looking at mine today, and it sure looks like a vented cap to me, but "what do I know?" Here 'tis, and lemme know...

Jeff:
That is the original. Great for a static display in a show - but if you move the tractor it should have the new gas cap.
Have a look at Ellie-Mae. She sports the new cap. It is still black, haven't gotten around to painting it yet.
Fill out the form and send it in. We would all feel a lot safer if you had the new safer gas cap. Don't need to hear that your cap leaked and something bad happened.

I have the original cap on my '49. Initially it was a leaker, but I found the problem to be the gasket was all dried up and not sealing anymore. Cut out a new gasket and no more leaking.
One problem I have is the lack of any serial number on my '67 Lo. The usual spot on the engine has no number stamped in, just a flat surface. Also the engine block part number was modified. Someone ground off part of the number and stamped in a new one. I would like to order a new type cap for both Cubs but with no available serial # on the Loboy I'm not sure what else they would accept. The '49 will be no problem. I cannot procrastinate this much longer as Rudi pointed out there will soon be a cut-off date.
