Doed anyone have a sketch or details for makining skids for a 54 blade? I just purchased one and it seems complete except for the skids.

1/4" X 1 1/2" X 13" bar stock. Bent to this shape.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

This came from Bigdog When I asked the same ?
Don McCombs got the measurements for me. The stock he got measurements from was 3/8" thick and 1 1/2" wide. Mine may be 1 1/2" wide, I'd have to go look to be sure but everything else will measure out the same:
The stock is 1.5 inches wide by 3/8 inch thick. I tried just a single bend but found quickly that you really need the horseshoe bend for them to work properly. I think the originals were a little over 11" long. The flat stock I used was 12" long.
The holes are 9/16 inch in diameter.
The first hole is .75 inch from the end of the shoe. Each of the four remaining holes are .75 inch on center.
There are 2 bolts in each skid. The spacing is described above. I think the originals had 5 holes in them, I put 6 in mine. 9/16" holes 3/4" on center.
