Woods mower ID--info needed

Have what looks like a Woods mower (3-blade) on a Cub---but no mower nameplate or label or other ID that I can see. Where's the nameplate usually found?

Next time I'm working under it I'll at least measure the overall cutting
width...

I believe the nameplate on mine is on the PTO/belt guard that covers the tractor PTO. If it's got three blades, it's probably in the 59 family.

IH has a mower that is also a 3-blade 59" deck, and looks very similar to the Woods. From what I've seen, there is a minor difference in the mounting:

If you have a round pipe running from the middle of the deck back between the final drives, and there are two flat straps connected to the deck via pivot pins, it's a Woods mower.

If you have no round pipe, and the two flat straps are rigidly mounted to the deck, it's an IH.

The Manual Server has the Owner's Manuals for the IH series decks and the Wood series decks as well. That should help in id'ing what you have.

If I remember correctly (actually happened once) the Woods 59 inch uses a songle belt to run all 3 pulleys, but the IH?Danco has seperate belts and the outer arbors are in slots to adjust the blade belt tension.

As John eludes to, the easiest way to ID an Woods deck from an IH, is the belt. Woods mowers use a single belt, IH mowers use 3 seperate V-belts. Count the belts to get the ID right.
