BARE BLOCK
HAVE MISSED THE FORUM. HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOUCH FOR AWHILE. THANKS TO THE INPUT FROM MANY MEMBERS ABOUT REPAIRING THE BLOCK ON MY NEW PROJECT (YALLER CUB). I RECENTLY PURCHASED A LATE MODEL BARE BLOCK FROM EBAY. NEED HELP AGAIN. WHERE SHOULD I BUY ENGINE PISTONS, RIINGS,BEARINGS,GASKETS,ETC. I WILL TRY ASSEMBLY MYSELF AND GO FOR SOME QUALITY MACHINE WORK AND QUALITY PARTS. I WILL USE VALVE TRAIN, CRANK, RODS,OIL PUMP FROM ORIGINAL LOW HOURS MOTOR. GIVE ME YOUR SUGGESTIONS THEY ARE HIGHLY HONORED. I WANT TO DO A FIRST CLASS JOB.

Hi Larry,
I overhauled my engine using a block assy that I got from J P Tractor.
They sold me a correct dated cleaned block that was bored .040 over.
It included: pistons,rings,pins,cam shaft, valves.
The only parts I used from my old engine were: crank, rods, head.
I took my head, rods, crank to my local machine shop and had them all re-conditioned.
I was very pleased with the parts and quality of machine work that I recieved from J P Tractor.
The cost from J P Tractor was $475 plus shipping if my memory serves me correctly.
Just thought I might throw this out for thought!!

Bare Block
Since you are going to send your block to the machine shop I would suggest you check them out for supplying the necessary parts like pistons, rings, bearings, etc.
