According to Guy Fay's Letter Series book, the change to eliminate the Circle Cub decal was July 28, 1947. Don't have any information on how long to took for that change to actually make it to the production floor. July '47 serial numbers were 1981-3080.

I was passing through Earle, AR on Saturday and spied a Cub. Of course I stopped to talk to the owner and ask him why Bigdog hadn't been there yet. Anyway, it was a 47 Cub s/n 35XX (can't remember last two). Not a circle Cub. All looked to be original and in very good shape. I really liked the grille

I didn't think anyone passed through Earle, AR. Maybe a tower nearby?
August '47 numbers were 3081 - 4820. Looks like it didn't take too long to get the decals changed in production.

Left Thursday about 9am returned Sat about 8pm. 2,003 miles driving for 5 hours work.
Better than flying these days Sorry HR
It's all good. Besides, last time I checked, our Oakwood to Ft. Wayne flights ran really full. You would had to have an advanced purchase ticket.
Thank goodness your services aren't needed in Hawaii. Tough drive, I hear.
