For Trade forum
I would like to see a For Trade forum,,,,,, like I have a nice 2 blade Case pocket knife that I would like to trade for something else,,,,if we had lots of listings we could have fun making 2,3,4,5 etc, way trades being made. Trading was a way of the past and very important to life,,,,,, and did I say how much fun it was. I remember going to town one day and started with 2 old roosters,,,,, came home with 4 piglets and a nice homemade basket for Mom.
I can fix it,,,get me a bigger hammer.

Bugler:
I would be interested in learning which metal detectors would be good for prospecting and of course, just finding neat stuff on a beach or whatever. Em and I are into rock hounding, gems and other metals, so we have been looking but have no clue as to what works.
We even looked at some of the trade publications for metal detector aficionado's, and it is all Greek to us.. Your input would be appreciated.

Re: For Trade forum
Metal detecting a is a great hobby,,,,, It is one of the only hobby that I have that has paid for itself time and time again. First off all modern metal detectors are capable of putting the search coil underwater but not the electronic control box. So that will allow you to get down about 2 feet deep. If you plan to go underwater diving you will need a special machine. I have both. I would suggest a machine that does not have a view finder lcd screen to get started with,,due to the fact that you will believe the machine all the time and pass up good targets. Beach hunting is a great hobby and is very profitable,,,,, I have poped out several targets like coins, rings, gold, and jewels that have brought very big dollars,,, lets just say 4 figures. I have been in metal detecting since 1960 so I know a little about it. The thing I like most about beach hunting, beside the value of items , is that you are digging in the sand. I have detectors for $100 to $600 and they are my personal machines. I can send you some pictures or turn on the internet TV station and broadcast you all you want to know. You could even ask me questions at the same time. Just let me know. Remember one thing it is really tough to detect in 4 ft of snow and even harder to dig. I have tried it way to many times. Take care. Bugler
