Sunny here in So Cal....got the dirt prepared and conditioned....went and got two plants.....I planted Celebrity (VFN) this year...I have a broken sprinkler in the back yard so I use a 4 ft circle and a PVC watering system....set it and forget it..I don't give them any attention except miracle grow once a month....I let the bugs go crazy and eat and share what is left. My neighbors get so mad......because mine do better than theirs....but they get happy when I stop by to share.

OMG You are making me so jealous! I cannot wait to plan them too. Great idea on the irrigation system.

Re: Finally got tomato plants in ground today
I started some tomato plants the end of Jan. Will be able to put them in the ground in mid May. Maybe have some red ones by Memorial Day. These early ones are a treat, but the best come in July here in Mid-Michigan.

planted nine different variates last night at sunset, actually after dark. picked a new spot and dug holes, sifted dirt ,filled holes with some old manure, trimmed plants until only the top two leaves were left. laid the plants on their side and watered and covered with the sifted dirt.i hope i can add the bottomless cans before they take off to soon. i'll add pictures in a couple of months.
