I was looking at replacing the rubber washers on the transmission drive shaft joint on my 130.
There are 8 required. Part#43550
No longer available says CASE IH.
Any ideas on aftermarket, or suitable replacements?
Thanks,
Ed

Re: Rubber Washers
Ed, have you actually called a dealer rather than just looking up on line? I have had a lot of problems with parts saying not available when I looked them up on websites, but were still available. Sometimes the part number had changed, sometimes there was a difference in the way the number was entered (spaces, hyphens, etc.).
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Re: Rubber Washers
Yeah, what John said. You left the "D" off the part number. It is 43550D.

Thanks guys,
I'll try that with the D when I call the CNH dealer again.

Bigbill,
No I did not think of Ebay. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....
Mudflap sounds like a great idea. What can be so special about 8 rubber washers?
I suppose thickness, and elasticity are the biggest factors.

Re: Rubber Washers
They have to be strong enough to stand the torque of the engine, the bolts actually push against them, using them like shock absorbers.EZ wrote:Bigbill, What can be so special about 8 rubber washers?

Re: Rubber Washers
Rubber hardness is measured by durometer, the higher the number, the harder the rubber. Rubber changes durometer somewhat as it ages, thus a used part might not have the same properties as new. If scarcity of these parts appears to be near, it would be very useful if the person finding a new one would take it to a commercial/industrial rubber supplier for identification of the durometer and other characteristics. Such suppliers can get equivalent material and cut it to any shape/size required. The specifications would be most welcome for my records.
