Re: chicks
still only 5 babies, one has deformed feet so i got him seperate but he is a survivor. the hen started setting then left the nest completely after bout a week so i borrowed an incubator and tried to save them but lost more than i liked. this was my first time incubating so i guess i will experiment again in march. talked to the man i got my chickens from and he gave me some tips from his experience that i will try the next go around.

Re: chicks
Get some more eggs. You still have time. I incubated 100 eggs in my Kindergarten class one year, 60 hatched. You could hear peeping when you rounded the corner at the end of the hall in the mornings. I like incubated chicks better than "sat" chicks. Hard to get my hands on chicks with a protective mama around.
