Several people have asked about the background of some of my pictures. The link below will take you to some I took this morning before the snow melted. I had to hold the size and resolutin down due to my being on a dialup (wanted to download them in one day), but you get the general idea of the scenery I have. The first one was taken facing west, and I slowly turned toward north, then east. This was standing at my back door.

This area was orignally settled by the French. They would live in tents for 2 or 3 years in an area moving them around until they found the ideal spot for their cabins. That way they could pick spots that got good summer breezes, sheltered form winter winds, least problems with insects. I lived from the age of 4 to 22 within 1/4 mile of this place, and it is a corner from the family farm. The cattle always came to this spot in bad weather, and I decided to evict them. sorry about that for you animal rights people.
Thom, I do have some neighbors not to far away, one is about 2oo yards away, 2 families about 1/4 mile away, my mother about a half mile away, and then the next ones over a mile. and I do get along good with them. they are all great people. This is old farming country, and everyone helps each other without being asked. We live on a dead end road, and some of the neighbors watch the traffic to the point that I don't even have to worry about Bigdog.

John:
It is very nice country around where you live. Surprisingly, both Em and I saw the similarities to the valley that we live in..... so we figure you are pretty blessed. A little bit of Canada in Missouri Who'da thunk it

John, we noticed that there was no sign of Missy anywhere on the property. Bigdog has loaned me this new Tractor Beam Triangulation Cub Locator Software so I thought we should give it a try. Here is what it shows

Close, but no ceeegar. Though that is the home of the problem cub I've been working on when I feel like it. Finder must work on old scent though, because it hasn't been there for 3 or 4 months. It should have pointed to the roof you can see in the last photo.
