Question to you Super A guys out there. My oil pressure gauge was so broken-rusty-destroyed that I could not see what the face looked like. So I ordered the one below from Steiner.
When I cranked the SA, it pegged the needle instantly. Then when the tractor was shut down, the gauge would only return about half-way. It appeared the insides had been over pressurized.
Talked to Amanda at Steiner, and they happily shipped be a replacement. Just like the first one. Same results.
Talked to them again, and she put me in touch with a tech guy. He was under the impression the gauge did not register enough pressure, so they have replaced it again with the one below.
I installed it this afternoon. When the tractor started up it pegs this one as well. I pulled the disc harrow with it for a few minutes to warm up the tractor. When I came back to the shop, at idle the needle drops down to approx 40 PSI. Is this about normal for a SA?? Does anyone have an original gauge that can tell me what kind of reading it shows?
This little tractor runs sweet and is very strong, so it does not "appear" to have any issues. Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Roy - you might want to go with a 0 - 75 LB gauge.

Re: Super A oil pressure gauge question
The oil pressure gauge on my SA and the one in the Owner's Manual is the one with the red and white sectors. Mine runs in the upper white, but there are no numbers associated with it. The manual doesn't specify a pressure, either.
I'll try to remember to get the part number off of mine tomorrow.

Re: Super A oil pressure gauge question
Well Don,
I was excited by your post and went directly to CNG's site to purchase the correct gauge. See attachment below on what I found. These gauges are 0-45 PSI. The one I have doesn't look as cool, but goes 0-50. Think I'll wait and see if it breaks before I swap it out.

Re: Super A oil pressure gauge question
Hi Roy
I just went out and looked at my 100 and 130. The 100 has non stock 100 psi oil gauge on it. And the 130 has a stock IH 75 psi gauge its a little dirty but the part # looks to be 364665R91
Hope that helps.

A 45 PSI gauge is just fine. I would be real disappointed if my Super A's oil pressure wasn't "pegged." Won't hurt it a bit.
