IH LBA Engine
Anyone know anything about these?
I bought a IH LB engine and don't know a lot about it. Runs well but doesn't seem to be getting enough oil to the valve rocker assembly. I noticed what looks like an adjustment screw and locking nut on the end of a small pipe. Also one on the rocker shaft assembly. I think the one on the end of the tube is the oil flow adjustment. Confused about the one on the rocker assembly. Does that one just lock the rocker arm shaft in place or is it an oil flow adjustment also?

I have some information on LB engines.. just not a lot .. will check and see if there is anything on the LBA. I know very little about them except what I have read in C. Wendell's book.

The LA/LB manuals are online. Do a search on google.

Re: IH LBA Engine
Not sure what you are asking about on the rocker shaft. There is a spacer on the shaft that has a setscrew with a jam nut. That is probably the part in question. The screw with the jam nut at the end of the tube is the vavle oiler adjusting screw. Clockwise decreases the oil and counterclockwise increases it. It should be set to deliver 3 drops of oil per minute when the oil is warmed up.
