Today while mowing the yard I turned off the pto and when I went to turn it back on, nothing happened. After trying it two or three times with the same results, the next time the pto came right on. Didn't turn it off anymore til done.
I've had the tractor for 3 years without a hint of trouble so I have no clue as to what might have gone wrong so I thought I would ask you guys. Got a week to trouble shoot before it's time to mow again.
Any thoughts?

Re: 184 pto switch
Probably the switch. Put a voltmeter on the output side of the switch. Turn the switch on and fiddle with it. See if you can get intermittent failure at the switch.

Re: 184 pto switch
I agree with Jim, that it's likely the switch, but it may just be a poor connection on the back of it. By the way, that's a very common switch used as a PTO switch (with start lockout) on quite a few different tractors. Even green ones!

Re: 184 pto switch
There is a fuse as well in the circuit on the dashboard. Might want to pull the fuse out and make sure the contacts are clean.
