Ben Hur trailerHas anyone heard of Ben Hur Trailers? I've found that they were military trailers used behind Jeep's and Deuce and Half. The one I've found is post war made for farm/home. The price is good . Are they close to a IH cub trailer.
This is a picture of one. The one I'm looking at has fenders. The tongue has been replaced and has a 2" ball hitch and the floor looks to have been replaced with a diamond plate sheet. http://www.heavens-reach.com/astrophoto ... ur-trailer What do you think? Re: Ben Hur trailerNot sure what a benhur trailer is but the real WW11 Jeep trailers were much heavier, had a pintel hook tongue setup, had no tailgate so they would float.
IHC made a quality machine and was leader of the pack.Let's keep them running,

Re: Ben Hur trailerRuss, here is my trailer. I was told it might be a Ben Hur. Look at the pix of the white trailer in the link you posted. I believe mine is that trailer.
![]() Here is the one in your link ![]() When I first saw my trailer it had the same cross pieces in the bed. The PO had cut most of them out just before I bought it. The reason I think it is the same one is because the guy I bought mine from also owns a Jeep as seen in one of the pix.. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Ben Hur trailerWow Bill small world. That's pretty cool. If yours is a Ben- Hur is it a good trailer, would you recomend owning one to a friend?
The one I'm looking at seems in good condition, tires ok, has lights, new tongue and the tail gate is solid. It is painted yellow, will have to splash some 2150 on it and change the wheel color. Re: Ben Hur trailerI don't see any problem with them. Mine seems to be in pretty good shape. Other than lights, no dump bed and having springs, it is very similsr to a Cub trailer.

Re: Ben Hur trailerGet it ! They are fantastic, the only drawback is no dump.

Re: Ben Hur trailerBefore you purchase the trailer, crawl under it and look at the condition of the cross members, flooring and spring shackles and shackle mounts.
Should make a good trailer to tow behind a Cub or the pickup. I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Ben Hur trailerThat green tractor is the most stripped down tractor there is. It has no starter, No PTO , home made draw bar. Only what it takes to make it run( has mag)
It has a broken engine mount on right front so I figured I would never use it for a work horse so painted it on a bet. Even has a home made crank. The hood had been ran over. I straightend it with a 5lb sledge for starters. Doglegs are home made. The chrome exhaust is a piece of sewer pipe. I have had it at a few shows, the IH people just shake there heads and grin, but it really upsets the JD people This has been a fun tractor. In all honesty it is probably one of the best running cubs I have now or ever had. Most always starts on first crank no matter how long it has set.

Re: Ben Hur trailerThat had to be made by the same company that built the 629-629 trailers.

Re: Ben Hur trailer
I may be wrong but I think IH made their own trailers at the Memphis plant.
