What is this implement?
I inherited a ton of implements from my grandfather and a couple older tractors. This kind of looks like it has the right hookups for my cub and the chains for lifting it. I'm selling stuff off and I'd like to know what it is and where it goes to and maybe its just homemade? I'm new with tractors and implements all together, don't know what stuffs worth or anything about it. I've already accidentally scrapped a cub cultivator!

Tractors are like watermelons: the RED is good and you throw away the GREEN.

Re: What is this implement?
Check out this thread. There was a discussion about this type implement. It's a weeded/mulcher, although I can't tell you the brand or model number.

Re: What is this implement?
The weeder part comes in when a rain after a crop has been planted but not yet emerged causes a hard crust making emergence difficult. Weed seed being thru out all depths will sprout near the surface. Running the weeder a couple of inches deep breaks up the crust and kills tiny weeds. It will not affect the corn even if sprouted but not yet up. We did it with corn only but I would think it would work with beans. I have not seen one used in many years. Vern

The "old folks" around here called them a "pea weeder."

Re: What is this implement?
My father had one for his cub, in the 50's. He welded 2 stubs of pipe to the frame, and attached it to the rear cultivator frames, using the wedge clamps. Used it to smooth the soil, after disking. Rear cultivator frame lifted it fine. Ed
