Farmall A Engine
Hi, I have a 1940 non-electric farmall A with a cracked block and I traded some parts for another engine. This new engine has the serial # M 203446 FAA Stamped on it. I think this is a newer engine. Will it work as a transplant on my tractor? I got just the striped down block so I don't know if it needs a water pump or not. Any advise would be very helpful. Thanks

Re: Farmall A Engine
It should work. Super A engines would be above 250001, although a Super A engine should bolt in also.
I have a 40 A parts tractor, and it must've gotten a replacement block. The casting code is 1942 on it and it has no serial number stamped on it at all.

Re: Farmall A Engine
Should work fine. My 1946 A has a 1945 B motor. Same engine was used for a lot of them
