Re: record post coming up
Considering we average about 1,000 posts a week we should see it happen about the end of June.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Currently average (since May 25) 128.75 posts/day so 1493 / 128.75 = 11.6 days so we're looking at June 29. Good call Bill !

Not really. Since all posts are counted, even for sale posts that have dropped off, you can't count posts to match names. The only way to tell would be if someone were to post and then see that the count rolled over at that precise post. With the number of people posting you would never keep track. My guess is that when the count down gets to single digits there will be a flurry of posts to see who will get it. The benchmark will pobably come and go pretty fast at that point. About the only thing we can do when it is within a few numbers is break out the ice cream, cake and noise makers for a quick celebration and then get back to normal posting.

You sure about that? When I click on your post so it displays at the top of a page, the URl is "http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=71185#p578263". I always assumed the "#578263" part of it was the post number. If so, I would think the "total posts" on the front page is only a count of the ones that are still present on the system and 578,263 is a sequential numbering that includes all that have aged off, been removed, etc.

Which would mean we have already surpassed the half million mark. The number on the front page could reach that mark several times depending how many posts roll off after it is reached.
Also, if you enter that url it comes back with random posts so it is still hard to tell where the milestone post is.
