My friends and I were at a local shop today, standing around drinking coffee, when the subject of
weather came up. One wise fellow said it was going to be a hard winter this year. Another said
It wouldn't be. I didn't know myself so I thought about it a while. Today was a beautiful, sunny ,not too hot ,not too cool day.
I went straight to the tractor shed. Pulled out the tool box ,fired up the cub and moved her over to the snow plow which was outside on blocks.
She took 10 minutes to hook up and back in the shed she went. Now it doesn't matter its a hard winter or not. I wont have to lay on the ground in the wet and cold
hooking her up. Now if I can just get one more winter out of my old pickup truck I'm all set.

Re: Hooked up the Snow Plow
Good idea Ellie is still wearing her blade from last year. Didn't get around to taking it off and I don't think I will bother. Leave it on for the winter.

Re: Hooked up the Snow Plow
Started working toward that myself today. Took the 59 off the Cub and put it on the Lo Boy to clear out for the blade. (It's staying there a while too...)
Also checked out my old car tire chains - looks like a pair on one tire on the cub will work if push comes to shove....and I have at least 2 pair.

Temps here this morning are right on the edge of 39 degrees so it won't be long.
Stopped by the local Walmart coming home yesterday evening and there's Christmas stuff up every where you look.
I'm ready, never had such a long summer and it's the season I dislike most....
Merry Christmas everyone.

Re: Hooked up the Snow Plow
Guess I've been working in that direction too. Hadn't really thought about it, but I started two weekends ago, tore my whole blade apart, stripped to bare metal, overdrilled the old oblonged holes and fitted with new, larger bolts, primed and re-painted. I put it all back together this past weekend and shot another coat of paint on everything. I think I'll have to wait a while before I actually mount it on the tractor though. We tend to have pretty nice October weather here...... well..... most of the time.

Getting ready for that four letter word now is a guarantee of a mild winter. Thanks for your help.

Re: Hooked up the Snow Plow
Since I never put the sickle mower on my Cub this year, and the front blade hasn't been moved in about 5 years. Maybe it's time?

Re: Hooked up the Snow Plow
Mowed the fort yesterday.... Last year I had the L54 all puffed out with new paint and this summer I put the 'INTERNATIONAL 54' stickers from Clint on it. I used it once last winter.
Sure wish I could figure a way to lock the 54 in the up position so the Fast Hitch could be used.
