Spied this for sale the other day. What is a good-running Cub Cadet 1200 worth? I know nothing of that which is yellow and white....
thanks,
Al

Re: 1200 w/ 44" mower: The age old question
I just sold a really nice 1200, 48" deck, with a newly rebuilt engine, this spring for $650.
Something to watch out for is the motor mounts. The 1xxx series tractors were the first to have the engine bolted to a steel plate, which bolts to the frame through a set of rubber bushings, ISO mounts. This was part of the "Quietline" design, along with quieter mufflers and the engine side panel enclosures. All good measures, but they had their down falls. The gear drive models are known for wearing out the ISO mounts, letting the engine flop around, which in turn tears out the clutch disk. Not a big deal, but it is something to be aware of. You can tell pretty easy, open the hood and give the engine a shake. You'll know if they're worn out.

Re: 1200 w/ 44" mower: The age old question
I love my 1200cc. She is the smoothest running cadet i have. Maybe because of the iso pads being new. I went thru the complete tractor after the PO broke everything on it. I don't have a clue how you can blow the engine, break the clutch at the sametime. This was a non running 1000cc when i got it for $150. I purchased a new 12hp AQS, a disc brake setup, new clutch, 1" front spindles and rims and my son built her. Now i have a 1200cc. Any cub cadet here running in good condition with mower is worth between $750 to $1,000 average turn key machine.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
