cub , 140
I have a 74 cub. I have potential to get a 140. The tractors seem to have similarities. Are any of the implements / parts interchangeable.

Re: cub , 140
Most everything is Cub specific. Because of the different PTO speed none of the power eqquipment will work. Cultivators, plows and such bolt up different. Some fast hitch stuff may work but I am not sure what.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: cub , 140
Relatively few thing will interchange and be right for each one. The 140 is more powerful and uses bigger equipment. If your cub has a fast hitch, the fast hitch stuff will work with a 140 but will be small for its capabilities. The 140 is a 2 plow tractor compared to 1 plow for cub. Also a cub disc will work but is also small compared to the double gang set for a 140. Cultivator shanks and clamps will interchange but the other parts are different. Also any mowers for the cub will not work on a 140 because of the speed/direction of the two's pto. Others will chime in and know more but that about sums it up. If your happy with the cub and have all you need for it and it's in good shape then maybe stay with it. If you need a little more power and are going to work it more then the 140 is a great option for an all around tractor.

Re: cub , 140
To store in a garage with a 7 foot high door, the 140 will need a really short muffler and the operator will need to be good at ducking. The 140 is cumbersome to turn in tight places. First gear in the 140 is too fast for some purposes. The 140 has a much faster road gear than does the Cub. If the Cub is big/powerful enough to do the job at hand, it is my choice. If more power or speed is needed, consider the 140.

The 140 uses Super A implements, because it is just a newer version of Super A.

Re: cub , 140
My neighbor's brother used to work at the plant in Louisville. His opinion was that the 140 was dangerous - way too much power and way too light - something about them flipping them at the factory on a regular basis....I've had 100 and 130 standing on their rears before myself....
Very little Cub stuff will work right with a 140.....
