Drawbar removal
I am mounting a worksaver on my IH140 and I have to remove the forward mounting bolts, The rear ones come right out but the front ones appear to be mounted inside the final drives. How do I get these bolts out to remove the drawbar?

Re: Drawbar removal
Not sure I know what a worksaver is but,, the draw bar should be able to be removed with 2 bolts on each side. From your description it sounds like " studs" were put in the forward holes. which would require nuts on the studs. If that is the case
can you double nut the studs and back them out?

Re: Drawbar removal
The front pair of nuts are on studs? Was this a normal installation? My drawbar appears original and has four mounting points that are held in the rear most by 2 bolts and the forward pair seem to be on either captive bolts as the heads are not visible. I really want to be sure before I start cranking on them and maybe damage them . Also a worksaver is a model of aftermarket 3pt hitch. Thanks again Micah

Re: Drawbar removal
I thought the Super A started out with studs in all 8 positions and any bolts had been put in as replacements.

Re: Drawbar removal
Jim is probably correct. The "plates" that the drawbar attaches to have "hooked" hole/slots that would slip over the studs.
The owners manual for a Super A muddles the procedure by stating" The quick attachable draw bar can be easily removed ,or reversed and placed in the forward position. To remove the draw bar, loosen Bolts"A"(referring to an illustration 58 ) and unhookthe complete draw bar"
Also may have used a "frankenstien" bolt that the plates hooked over.
