Compressing them by hand, the ones in the cub are noticeably weaker than my original. I suspect I now know why the valves and seats had quite a bit of serious pitting, especially the exhaust valves. When I called Fliegs Equipment, local IH dealer, I did get a pleasant surprise, the springs were only $5.40 each, about half what I expected. decided to go that rout rather than used.
