Stay chain bracket
Is there a diagram anywhere of the front stay chain bracket for the 193 plow? Parts manual does not show a clear pic of attachment and/or shape. Figure it w/be a reproduction in the shop. If someone has an OEM that they could snap a picture of and post it would give me an idea of where to start. Manual also doesn't show where/how it is attached - drawbar?? Thanks, Dusty B

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Dusty, it gets attached to your depth adjustment lever, not your drawbar.

Re: Stay chain bracket
i never knew they made 2 quadrant supports for the 193...one with a stay chain bracket and one without. Mine does not have one either. I guess I will have to make one. I have been bolting the stay chain to one of the final holes. Probably not a good idea.

Re: Stay chain bracket
I've got one that has a "J" bolt in place of the stay chain keyhole bracket (Of course the hook of the 'J" is turned skyward ). Never tried it but it looks like it would work OK and it would be a whole lot easier to just drill a hole instead of trying to make the bracket and weld it on. Unless you're going for original.

Re: Stay chain bracket
Dusty, is this for the plow I sold to you? I was under the impression that later 193's did not use the stay chain and therefore had no bracket welded onto the depth adjustment lever. That plow I sold you was a later model, IIRC, and had no brackets or chain provision. Perhaps Jim B. can shed some info on this correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Stay chain bracket
The chain and related parts were added in 1951.

OK............obviously the one I had above was an earlier model. But it was a nice one. PO had repainted it but it showed very little wear. It came from an estate auction and all his Cub implements were very well cared for.
