I was looking for a hood and rear tires for the 65 Loboy I got from Texas and found a complete Cub with a locked engine about 11 miles from Jeff Silvey. The guy was parting it out and said the tin and tires were in good shape and tossed a very reasonable price at me for the whole thing. I said I would take a ride up and see what he had.
This is what I found. The engine is definitely locked.
The rest of it looks really good other than the trans is stuck (rusted?) in neutral. It has no serial # tag but the block is cast code 11-11-K which makes me think it is an early 1965. The red paint was added by a PO sometime in it’s life since there is yellow peeking through all over.
I plan to use the mower on one of my other Cubs. I am debating if I want to fix up the Loboy or marry the two into one regular Cub.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

That is a nice looking cub. I think we all feel your pain.."so many cubs, so little time".

OK Bill, I know you are trying to corner the market .. but geez, you gotta leave some for the rest of us
Nice rescue .. looks like this one probably would make a nice addition. Bet the tranny is an easy fix .. the mill looks like a good candidate for a test of the e-tank idea

With Cubarama next month I am sure you can find enough parts to repair both.

If you marry the two then the lo "boy" will become less dominant and the resulting tractor will have to have a feminine name... Oops gotta run, the wife needs more coffee Dave

Nice looking tractor and the deck looks to be in great shape! Good find. ..and an interesting front axle, now I think you have two like that.

You know, I looked at the tie rods a couple times because they "just looked different". Now I know why.

Good looking find. Soaked in PB for a week, unbolt the rods from the crank and some judicious use of hand sledge on a block of wood and you've got another runner there.
Touch up the valves, clean up the pistons, hone the bores and new rings and you're in the running...that's about how my '65 loboy came to me - stuck...and it mows every week with the 59 and hasn't used 1/4 quart of oil yet this year....
