Postby dickcub50 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 7:26 pm

Using loboy today, stated harder than normal. started running rough, stalled
and would not start. Oil running out of the distributor. (not good)
What seals do I need replaced? Will I have to retime the engine?

Sounds like your governor seal is leaking a tad... Do you have a distributor or a magneto on your 1950? You will have to pull either one to get to that seal. Also will have to pull the governor off the front of the motor. It is important to get the engine to tdc on #1 cylinder and then to time the governor and THEN the mag/dist to the governor.

Has it got hydraulics? Check your engine oil level. If over full, lets start there.
