Introduction Doc Dave
Greetings, I have just registered for this forum. My name is David Profitt and I'm professor of philosophy and religious studies at a small college in Eastern Kentucky and I am nearing retirment. My wife of 43 years and I live on a mini - farm in Magoffin County Kentucky (near Salyersville) where we raised four children. We raise Boer goats. I am reasonably new to tractor collecting and restoration but thoroughly enjoy the hobby. I look forward to logging onto this site and interacting with you in the future. I will be recognized on the site as Doc Dave

Dave, Welcome to the Forum. You'll find a lot of friendly and knowledgeable Cub lovers here. Feel free to browse the tool bar for manuals, etc., and ask any questions you might have. My neigbor raises Boers and had about 20 kids this year.

Re: Introduction Doc Dave
Dave, welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn about tractors. While the majority of the info is about Cubs, the guys here have a great knowledge of just about any make or model. Don't hesitate to ask any question you may have. I retired almost two years ago and am having the time of my life playing around with my Cubs and attending various Cub functions.
I see you are three hours south of Cincinnati. If you have room on your calendar you may want to take a trip to the Barnyard Bash Cubfest in Harrison Ohio on May 30 and 31. This will be our seventh year hosting this event where you can learn a lot about Cubs, meet many of the active members of this web site and just have some great fun. Best of all, it's free! Several of the guys bring their wives along and spend both days with us. Check out the Bash at http://www.barnyardbash.com

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to a long and enjoyable stay here. Happy Easter (I was a pastor for 28 years before joining the faculty of the college). Doc Dave

Hi Doc Dave, welcome to the forum! Back in the 1920's, my parents and grandparents moved from the salyersville area to OH, to farm on the Scioto marsh. I've visited your neighborhood a couple times, as we still have extended family in the area. I hope you can make it to the Barnyard Bash, it would nice to meet you and chat about your area.
