Yep on the stray pieces, don't let anything get in the scrap pile till you are sure of what it is.... I am sure many people are looking for the kind of stuff that just got thrown out and is critical to some implement.

My Lo Boy is the workhorse in the big city. Just wish they were as easy to get on and off of as people think they are.

Enjoy your Cub, it looks like a nice one from what I can see. I like flail mowers!

Good news. Talking to Mother-in-law, she said they had parked it (1986) because she was having problems getting into it and they purchased a Toro riding mower so they just parked it. Sooooo, possibly an easy start. Pics as promised, can anybody tell what year it is. I did not see a SN plate.

Is this what I think it is.....for the flail blades?

This is where the serial number plate is located.

Man, you hit the Motherload!!!!!

As far as the year - serial will tell exactly, but it's between 58 (emblems) and when they went to the square nose in 63 (August).

I'm starting to believe I did. The SN tag was caked in oil so easily missed. My guess is a 61' but mother-in-law says 50's. Research puts it as 60-63 due to yellow color. Don't know what the 'rake' looking things do. I will use the mower and plow blade for sure. Definitely need to replace those front tires. Guess sitting flat for 25+ yrs did not agree with them. Rear tires look good.

Those fronts don't look that bad. A little air and they'll be fine for everyday use.
The rake looking thing looks similar to a weeder mulcher for a 144 cultivator. The pull irons are bent but since it was used on a loboy maybe a few modifications were made. I really don't see how it would work on your loboy with no rear lift.

Based on the date code on the side of the Touch-Control unit, it is either a very late '62 or a '63. The weeder-mulcher looks like it may have been reworked to bolt to a drawbar. With no rear lift on the Cub, maybe it was used on another tractor?

Ike,

Great pics. Yes, you have a pile of gooooooood stuff. Especially the sharpener for the flail knives, almost impossible to find. I can't wait!!! Going to Pierpont this week.

I would not doubt a modification was made. My father-in-law is a renown jury-rigger. As for the sharpener, I kinda thought it would be something special. Looks brand new.

Thanks for the pic. I was wondering what the blade looked like hitched up.
