French cubs
How many Cubs were made in France? And are they included in the 250,000 total units number?

Re: French cubs
Hi,
The French Cubs had their own serial numbers.
Below is a post I made lately with info. My 2nd post on the page has a serial number list for the French Cubs. It is a green paper.

Merci. It appears that the total production of Cubs and Super Cubs was 27,931.

Re: French cubs
I think all Cubs are super but what officially is a "Super Cub"
All I found was this "The French version became the Super Cub with a more powerful engine in 1958 until production ended in 1964. IH may have also unofficially built some Super Cubs at their factory in Louisville." the citation is "Fay, G. & Kraushaar, A.: Original Farmall Hundred Series 1954–1958, page 16. Motorbooks International, 2003."
Did the up the RPM?

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Re: French cubs
Hi,
The name Super Cub was used on the French Cubs, it is shown in the serial number list I posted before.
The link to a post showing it is above.
IH raised the speed of the USA Cub engines from 1800 RPM, to 2000 RPM, in late 1955, at serial number 192113, and made other changes to the engine, it shows in Raymond Durban's database.

Re: French cubs
So the same changes were made to US cubs but they were not referred to as "super" cubs.

Hi,
I don't know what changes were made to the French Cubs, there is not much info about them on this website that I have seen.

Re: French cubs
As far as I can ascertain, the French Super Cub had the Solex 26VBN carb. and the addition of a foot throttle. The standard French Cub had a type 881 Solex carb. and no foot throttle. There may well be other differences too but the foot throttle is the main obvious way of determining whether or not it is a Super.

Re: French cubs
IIRC......The French built Cubs do not have any Delco-Remy electrical products on them.
Cub Cadets....Engineered for people who know better!
