Re: farmall cub front end loader
IH made the 1000 loader which is a single arm on the right of the Cub. Wagner and Henderson also made loaders that fit the Cub.

My 1000 loader.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: farmall cub front end loader
It you are looking at getting one keep in mind this is the best wheelbarrow in the world but not so great loader. Great for moving rocks or moving down trees and general clean up. You will not be able to dig a basement or things link that.
I love mine just know it has its limits.

Re: farmall cub front end loader
You guys with loaders, how much weight will your loaders pick up? I recently installed one on my 53 cub and at best it will only lift 250-300 pounds. I am just wondering if I am getting everything I can out of my touch control unit. It has never been cleaned or gone through as far as I know.

I have double wheel weights, a hydraulic pump off of number cub, and a replacement double acting cylinder and it is still limited. 250-300 is about it on a cub. I have read the IH 1000 does more on a 140
The cub hydraulics are only about 1400 psi

Re: farmall cub front end loader
I have 3 IH1000 loaders and they work GREAT. You just havta be careful what your lifting. Keep the load close to the ground when traveling. They do have there limits tho.
I carried this set of disc about 1/4 mile down the road with no problem.

Re: farmall cub front end loader
Thanks guys. I guess it's doing about as much as it can. I'm just amazed that a 1/8" pipe coming from the TC can deliver as much power as it does. Here's a photo of my loader. It was manufactured by Twin Draulic. It's kind of primitive looking but gets the job done. It does do a great job of unloading those heavy ice chest and other things out of the back of my truck and does pretty decent at toting a little dirt around the yard at times.

Re: farmall cub front end loader
If you are just looking for a loader to add to a cub, this company has plans for small tractors. Probably something that could fit a cub... http://www.loaderplans.com/

Re: farmall cub front end loader
Before you purchase a loader for a Farmall Cub, ask yourself what you plan on using the loader for.
Consider a larger tractor and loader or a skid steer.
I own two skidsteers. The Case 1816, which is quite small, has a 600 lbs lift capacity. The BobCat 610 has a lifting capacity of either 1200 or 1600 lbs, can't remember which. We use the 610 for all kinds of tasks; loading/unloading trailers, digging/hauling gravel, moving junk, digging out and removing stumps, pushing fallen trees off the pasture back into the woods.
I recommend a skidsteer.

Re: farmall cub front end loader
Eugene has good points. A loader on a Cub has its purpose but makes it useless for lots of other task. I had a skid steer and it was awesome but it had its limits just like everything else does. I sold it and bought a 60hp tractor with a loader on it and can do more for what I do with it. In the best of all worlds it would be nice to have the tractor with loader, a skid steer and a dedicated Cub with a loader to play with. For what I do, the tractor and loader get more use than the skid steer did but that’s just me and the world I live in.
