Deluxe Seat--Dumb Question

Postby Super A » Wed Nov 07, 2007 10:29 am

All,

How do the deluxe seat brackets fasten to the Cub platform? Same holes as the regular seat post or somewhere else?

I have a deluxe seat from my Super A restoration. (ACtually a 100/130/140 deluxe seat.) My Cub currently has a rather flashy non-OEM seat on it, I have been thinking about buying the brackets from TM, adding the little cross pieces to the seat frame, and using this seat on my Cub.  Does anybody have a good clear pic of how the seat attaches to the tractor I can look at?? :?:

I wish I could figure out a way to keep the straight shift lever, but one "issue" at a time....

Not close up but you can get an idea maybe:

Al,

If you mount the deluxe seat back far enough from the steering wheel to fit normal people the straight shift lever will work just fine. 8) Little kids would have a little trouble reaching the pedals, though.

I hate those short shifters so here's how I deal with them.

I plan to use a lengthened straight shifter on the stealth project which will have the same conflict.

I tried to blow up Bigdog's photo. I hope this works. It may not be clear.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Maybe this will help. The pan seat was later replaced by a deluxe seat using the same vertical brackets. The bracket on the right is bolted under the tool box using the same holes as the seat post uses on an F-Cub.

On the delux seat could someone tell me how wide the seat frame is and how deep it is from the front to the back. If I was to put one on an F Cub would I need the brackets shown in the picture? Is this type of seat better than the pan seat and does the seat have springs in it?

By meaning better, its all personal preferance. I like the delux but is harder for me to get in and out of and it has a great back rest and springs in the seat cushon. The pan is a little harder on the tail bone but does have a little give with its spring on the seat post. Also I noticed my delux on the 67 sits cockeyed  with the rock shaft in place......

I had the same on my 67, just made a shim plate for the other side out of 1/4'' stock. all is level in my world now.
