A few years back Earl Scruggs,Ricky Scaggs and Doc Watson did a show in Winston Salem,NC at reynolds auditorium that was sold out even though we were having an ice storm if you can find the CD at wal mart or any music store the name of it is THE THREE PICKERS if you like good bluegrass and a little folk music it's well worth the price.

I can remember as a kid watching Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs and the "Foggy Mountain Boys" every Saturday evening on The Grand Ole Opry on TV. Their pickin was legendary.

We didn`t get the Grand Ole Opry, but we did get to see Flatt & Scruggs on Ed Sullivan a time or two. Of course ... my gramps buddy Hank had a spot on the Opry around that time. My Gramps and Hank shared many a time ridin the rails during the 30`s. We used to listen to Hank and the rest of the greats on the radio Saturday evenings. Still love the old tyme country music. Two of my favourite tunes have to be Foggy Mountain Breakdown and Canadian Pacific.

Good stuff. Last January a group of us went to Dayton to see Del McCoury. Last September I had front row seats to see Rhonda Vincent and the Rage at the Morgan county fair. They were about a half an hour into the first set when the thunderstorm hit. They never did get to start again. We had seen her a year ago at Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville. I think she is coming back to Stuart's again in March. Could that be a Rhonda Vincent Mini Cub Fest? A couple of years ago we saw Rhonda n the Ryman as the warm up band for Ralph Stanley and his Clinch Mountain Boys on a summber bluegrass night.
